- Don’t Workout
If you are like most of Dr. Rick Silverman’s patients, you enjoy spending every day at the gym. Whether cardio or weight training is your favorite choice, we encourage all of our breast augmentation patients to avoid any type of strenuous activities for the first little while after surgery. Working out too early can do things like slow down your healing and cause your incisions to come open.
- Don’t Take a Bath
A hot bath may sound like your idea of heaven on earth after surgery, but we encourage all of our patients to wait an average of a couple of weeks to soak in the tub. If you absolutely need to, make sure to just get from the waist down wet and to avoid getting your breasts or incision site wet.
- Don’t Lift Your Arms Up
Depending on the placement of your incisions, we encourage most of our patients to avoid raising their arms above their head for a week or two so that they don’t tear open their incisions.
If you have young kids, try to get someone to help you so that you aren’t tempted to pick them up and raise your arms too high over your head.
If you have any questions about the recovery process, don’t hesitate to give us a call at either our Newton or Brighton offices at (617) 965-9500.
